Where we are
Take the Italian "autostrada" -- toll highway -- A1 to Bologna, Florence, and Rome. Coming from Rome, take the A1 in the direction of Florence and Bologna. About 100 kms. after Florence and about 150 kms after Rome, leave the "autostrada" at the Valdichiana-Perugia exit. Take to the right, heading for the link-road to Perugia. After another 30 kms turn all the way to the right at the exit of Tuoro, take the underpass on the right and on top of the small hill go left and immediately to the right again in the direction of Tuoro. After about one km turn left and drive in the direction of Arezzo for about 4 kms. (SS75bis) Soon after passing the Residence La Dogana you will find yourself at the Puntabella crossroads. Keep to the right, still in the direction of Arezzo. Drive along for another 800 meters and to your right you will finally see a minor, partially asphalted side road, with a few white-painted houses on the right and a large, natural-stone house on the left-hand side. On its corner is a small madonna statue. This is Località Le Caselle. Take the side-road and drive gently all the way up -- it's a matter of a couple of hundred meters -- until you find yourself at the gate of La Navicella, which is always open.
